Rivalries escalate at an east London house party full of artists. Daniel Neofetou and Ralph Pritchard direct "Collaborative Efforts,” a comedy displaying the quiet competition and jealous jargon of a creative scene. The night begins, and we bounce from guest to guest as they trickle in. There’s plenty of blasè chatter about artificial intelligence, upcoming art shows, and career aspirations. We spend extra time with Ben and his girlfriend as they anticipate whether Dan, another friend, will show. Dan’s been on an upward trajectory of late, currently in preproduction for a post-apocalyptic movie to be shot entirely on Ring doorbell cameras—the idea sounds oddly familiar to Ben. Dan arrives, seemingly chill, and Ben erupts, a vessel for the collective envy of the room. Neofetou and Pritchard portray the social dynamics with spot-on specificity. -JM. Director: Daniel Neofetou, Ralph Pritchard. Cast: Ben Gomes, Dan West, Sophie Cundale, Oliver Cox, Ellen King, Shivani Thussu. Music: aircode. Sound recording: Luke Predeth.
