College roommates / cinephiles in Vancouver discuss cinema, et al, casually planning to make a piece of their own. But they're at the stage where plans blow away so the thing is to capture 'now.' Turn on the camera, point it at the couch, let it roll till the card is full. Or as 'director,' 'actor' Kurt Walker describes it, "bullshit modern cinema"...So it's not exactly scintillating, but who needs that. All ya need is a young filmmaker who doesn't try too hard. Don't listen to your elders when they tell you what your movie needs to have to be a movie. You go by the rules later, but when you're young, don't. So while the camera is shooting the couches, we see a couple things: one of the friends is lost in Mass Effect 2 and doesn't say much, except, "I got to pee. But no one touch my game!" Another saunters in to show off his robot dance wearing a giraffe suit. And the man behind the mac laptop djs Sky Ferriera. What you may call the heart of the film is the recitation of a recent instant message exchange. The guy in the giraffe suit recently fell in love and she "felt the vibes too" but had a boyfriend, and so he's distraught, "I feel like shit…sick…skipped class…drank too much…I fall in love too easily." It'll be the same story when they start making real movies. But even now, a dead air experiment like this is worth 100 phony films trying to say something big.
