Captured in a single aerial shot, a young man’s proposal to his girlfriend at a McDonald's drive-thru is interrupted by an eager customer offering help with their order. Brad Roelandt directs “Joey Earns Rewards Using the McDonald's Mobile App & Megh and Clev Discuss Their Future Together,” a filmic feat that meets sketch comedy. As the couple turns into a McDonald's drive-thru lane, Clev suddenly pops the question — as Megh later puts it, in “a gesture of desperation.” Overwhelmed by the proposal, Megh asks Clev to exit the lane and park the car. Behind them on his scooter is Joey; he orders the new McFlurry and some other items; he also wonders why the car ahead of him abruptly left the drive-thru. Prompted by his curiosity and enthusiasm for the fast food chain, he makes recurring efforts to share his excitement with the distraught couple, specifically suggesting they look into the mobile app. We’re with them the entire time, and not only are we amused by the couple’s pathetic romance but also Joey’s persistence. -JM. Writer/Director: Brad Roelandt. Cast: Joey Gallimore, Meghan Sullivan, Cleveen Dominguez. Editor: Brad Roelandt. Drone Operator: Scott Huntsman.
