Four young friends go on a holiday in the French countryside and fall in love with each other. Andrea Studinger directs “Tomorrow, My God,” a candid observation filled with dry humor and lovely visuals of a friend group and their messy romantic feelings. On a visit to a vacation home, cousins Mathilde and Hélène are joined by Maxou and Igor. As they begin to unwind, enjoying the small town and its encompassing nature, a young man named Horace watches them from a distance. Horace keeps to himself without ever saying a word, quickly vanishing upon being noticed and spending his day running in the woods or making barbed tips for his bow and arrow. Distracted in our observation of the on-goings of the friends, it isn’t until the final moments where we learn Horace’s intentions. Studinger leads us through the quaint summer backdrop, letting the rambling and restlessness of city folk fill the silence. -JM.
