Skin of Man
Hello Darkness (Edgy, Etc) • 27-Oct-2021
When three friends take a road trip to an idyllic forest and drop acid, one is lured into a mystic web of hallucination and nightmare. Jimmy Joe Roche directs “Skin of Man,” an experimental horror film that creates vivid textures with avant-garde technique. The black and white film is free of dialogue but overflowing with raw atmosphere, a psychedelic film about lost innocence and demonic forces. Once the drugs hit, all bets are off, and what began as a quiet walk through the woods becomes a terrifying descent into the unknown. -KA.
Directed by: Jimmy Joe Roche. Produced by: Matt Porterfield & Matisse Rifai. Cinematography: Allen Moore. Original Score: Dan Deacon. Starring: Kiera Mulhern, Roxanne Reed and Joshua Christy.
