A lonely chatterbox, fed up with the anti-social nature of the world, seeks to find himself a friend at all costs. Set in sunny Los Angeles, “People Person,” directed by Taylor Thompson, is an upbeat character study looking at social connections and interpersonal expectations. Immensely desperate to make friends, and maybe more, Dennis prints out a stack of flyers advertising himself and pins them all over the city. Although it’s cold at the start, the phone begins to ring, and he begins to meet some folks. The hang–outs start okay but rifts emerge. Mostly feeling defeated, he suddenly receives a call from an older dame, Frankie. For various reasons, she requests that Dennis must arrive blindfolded. Lead by the animated, babbling performance of Joseph Schwartz, the film is a witty consideration of socializing, self-perception, and its conflict with our perception of others. -JM. Director: Taylor Thompson. Cast: Joseph Schwartz, Judith Ann Warren, Nikki Houston, Cade Guillory, Omar Salazar, Sammy Kusler. DP: Jacob "Kuba" Bojsza. Editor: Ethan Nelson. Producer: Kyle Henke.
