A dispirited young musician living out of her car comes to a crossroads when she reconnects with an ex-girlfriend for one night. Chloe Jury-Fogel directs “Five Song Tour,” a portrait of solitude and longing set around Christmas that highlights the flip side of holiday frivolity. Making her way through a series of small-time gigs, Jules plays melancholic folk songs to sparse, disinterested rooms. Her latest stop brings her close to a former partner, Phoebe, and she attempts to get in touch while growing weary of cold nights in her beat-up old Taurus. Jury-Fogel’s film is built around a quietly expressive lead performance by Alice Kremelberg, playing a woman stuck in an unfulfilled dream, longing to express herself through music, but also pining for some warmth, comfort, or intimacy. -KA. Writer, Director: Chloe Jury-Fogel. Starring Alice Kremelberg and Britne Oldford. Director of Photography: Maria Rusche. Editor: Adam Meeks. Producers: Stephen Scott Scarpulla, Debbie Walters, & Adrian Anaya. Music: Elliah Heifetz & Jane Bruce.
