A lonely woman with boundary issues steals a dog. India Donaldson directs “If Found,” a minimalist drama set at an off-season beach town that’s built with striking wintry visuals and a tone swaying between lightly comedic and disturbing. She lives on a boat with a friend who seems alarmed by her obsession with viewing pictures of dogs on her phone and needing to interact with every dog she sees in public. One day she finds an unattended mutt in a desolate field and decides to take it for a joyride. Rendered with an almost dream-like haze, the film is most memorable for its endearing dog mania and lovely 16mm images. We’ve featured Donaldson twice before — in 2021 with “Hannahs” and in 2019 with “Medusa.” -KA. Writer, director: India Donaldson. Cast: Lydia Okrent, Becca Blackwell, Lucy Kaminsky, River Ramirez, Amy Zimmer. DP: Charlotte Hornsby. Editor: Chris Osborn. Producer: Breanne Thomas. Music: Celia Hollander. Production Design: Elliot Camarra.
