A young woman seeks verification. Pervers3cowgirls presents “LACY_audition.tape_cocktailvilla.mp4,” a sketch-style mockumentary set in England following a multi-talented scenester in her effort to reach new heights. Lacy submits an audition tape for Cocktail Villa—a supposed influencer reality TV show. Announcing directly to the camera, Lacy tells us about her skills as a rapper, actress, hostess, and much more, while she meanders the local mall occasionally interacting with random shoppers. Afterwards, she brings us along to roam “the ends” where she comes across some people from her past who burst her bubble of delusion. The interactions are quite eccentric, and with her witty attitude and steadfast dedication to the grind, Lacy remains oddly compelling. Along with the film’s edit which is energetic and entertaining, Abigail Sakari’s performance as someone trying to center herself and obtain stardom despite being past her prime is hilarious and commendable. -JM.
