Comedy, Short Films, 24-Mar-2022
On her 21st birthday, Alex spends the night partying with friends, looking for more alcohol, and planning her escape from an existential crisis. Christina Offley directs and stars in “Of Age,” a lively coming-of-age comedy about getting wasted and/or entering adulthood. Alex still lives with her parents but she’s planning to move out soon. That is, after one last birthday bash where the plan is to get black-out drunk and forget about her problems. But when her friend, Stephen, turns up missing after going to get booze, Alex and co. head out in search. Shouldered by a charismatic performance by Offley (not to mention, a talking garden gnome and attack cat), the film is an entertaining mini romp in the spirit of an evergreen genre, a night-in-the-life teen caper. -KA. Written and Directed by Christina Offley. Starring Christina Offley, Taylor Blackwell, and Rachel Moore. Cinematographer: Konstantin Frolov. Produced by Rhianon Jones, Anastasia Reinhard.
