A dramatically trained actor spirals out of control trying to decide if she should take an unusual acting gig. “Porch Girl,” directed by Sari Rae Eichenblatt, comically tracks the woman’s chaotic decision-making process as she resorts to asking strangers for advice. Reluctant to take a role she’s been offered in a Bat Mitzvah performance, this ‘Porch Girl’ calls her mother for advice who instead rambles on about the recent death of a lesbian who used to hit on her. Her mother no help in the matter, the conflicted actress turns to anybody else in a viewable vicinity including her mailman. Outlining pros and cons with the random people she meets, it’s a look at modern indecisiveness with unexpected punchlines and visual charm thanks to the film’s distinctive setting. -JM. Director: Sari Rae Eichenblatt. Cast: Taylor Ortega, Caleb Hearon, Monica Loomba, Lucas Zelnick, Sierra Santana. Executive Producers: Sari Rae Eichenblatt and Lauren Foley. Cinematography: Seannie Bryan. Editor: Ian Faria.
