Comedy, Short Films, 13-Jul-2022
Awakening in a field far from home, two sisters embark on a magical and bizarre adventure through the pastoral Midwest. “Prairie Girls,” directed by Benett Holgerson, is a lighthearted romp through past and present detailed with antiquated costumes and props, and colorful animation sequences. After finding a mysterious axe, Bethica and Christmas are tracked by a pair of sinister internationals. When one of the sisters gets captured at a local bar, the other goes in search (while also looking for her favorite horses). Carried by its charismatic performances and anything goes unpredictability, the film is a showcase for unfettered playfulness. -KA.
