Comedy, Short Films, 02-Aug-2024
Tension between a young man and his musician roommate prompts a late-night meeting. Jens Josephs directs “Roommate Fight,” a comedy about two men navigating their disdain of living with one another. In hopes of addressing some recent qualms in the apartment, Bill sits down with his roommate, Tim. But Tim has other things on his mind. Through a series of sporadically-recorded voice memos, Tim begins to tell Bill about a grandiose film concept he’s had: a Green Day inspired musical dramatizing their disagreements. As we struggle to keep up with his socially-inept endeavor to explain the concept, the film intercuts to fictional reenactments of the voice memos. It’s a sharply funny take on a constant effort to avoid the consequences of the real world. -JM. Director/Editor: Jens Josephs. Cast: Rick Darge, Bill Kottkamp, Taylor Snook, Joey Krulock, Chantal Biancardi, Claire Berger, Jens Josephs. DP: Quinn Hester. Producer: James Gage.
