Awkwardly making their way through New York City, two brothers prepare to audition for the same role in an upcoming movie. Nicholas Shaya directs and co-stars in “The Audition Tape,” a 20 minute, episodic comedy that showcases the rolling banter of two Iranian-American brothers who might not actually be brothers. Sitting together in their shared apartment, Nick, played by Shaya, and Daniel, played by Daniel Zolghadri, rehearse the lines for the part that they’re both auditioning for. While they make their way to the audition to read for the tiny role (‘Strange Man’), Nick fixates self-consciously on his new “hybrid” haircut while Daniel tries to get him to relax. Playful in its performances and with an upbeat tone, the film is reminiscent of an evening sitcom but with its own modern sensibilities. -JM. Director: Nicholas Shaya. Cast: Daniel Zolghadri, Nicholas Shaya, Will Higgins, Liz Demmon, MC Nanda, John McGill. DP: Jacob "Kuba" Bojsza. Editor: Chris O'Brien. Music: Joseph Lee, Timothy Greer.
