An ode to the unspoken romance between cats and their humans. LaTajh Weaver directs “Companion,” a black-and-white film poem putting a peculiar bond into perspective. A young man waits for someone to come home. We listen to his train of thought, watching as he tries to occupy his lonesome mundane. He spills milk on the table, perches by the window, and pees on the floor. The zoomorphic lens becomes more clear after a woman returns home. Played wholeheartedly between Elijah Jenkins and Jerusha Krebs, it’s an endearing poke at the odd intimacy between human and feline. -JM. Director/ Writer: LaTajh Weaver. Cat: Elijah Jenkins.
