Two girls weaponize the digital gaze to turn a stranger into content. Logan Fields’ “Normie” is a snappy scrutinization where shit-talking gets put into perspective in a Los Angeles park. Two girls, with Erewhon smoothie and Juul in hand, observe an innocently unbothered man as he waits for the bus. With no restraint, they chirp to one another, making fun of his “normcore” outfit, the sandwich on his lap, and fabricating an elaborate backstory for who he could be. However, little do the girls know, a pair of eyes observe them from afar as well. Running at 3 minutes long, “NORMIE” plays out similar to a comic strip as the ridiculousness of online dialogue spawns into a laughable reality. -JM. Writer / Director: Logan Fields.
