On her 21st birthday, Alex spends the night partying with friends, looking for more alcohol, and planning her escape from an existential crisis. Christina Offley directs and stars in “Of Age,” a lively coming-of-age comedy about getting wasted and/or entering adulthood. Alex still lives with her parents but she’s planning to move out soon. That is, after one last birthday bash where the plan is to get black-out drunk and forget about her problems. But when her friend, Stephen, turns up missing after going to get booze, Alex and co. head out in search. Shouldered by a charismatic performance by Offley (not to mention, a talking garden gnome and attack cat), the film is an entertaining mini romp in the spirit of an evergreen genre, a night-in-the-life teen caper. -KA.
