A found footage compilation of a young drifter’s Mini-DV adventures. Michael Santos’s “trash moth” offers a series of vignettes discovered from a young man’s handycam that becomes progressively darker. Felix makes friends with a group of hooligans in hopes they will give him a beer. Next, he has a run-in with a beefed up security guard. In the final stretch of tape, Felix comes across a homeless man wearing a Mickey Mouse mask on top of his head masturbating in an alleyway. With its sporadic cuts, zooms, and pans, it’s a lo-fi free-for-all, uncomfortably compelling and unpredictable. -JM. Director: Michael Santos.
