Ten Thousand
Comedy, Short Films, 27-Jul-2026
What if a day could be a year for a day. Maxwell Blanche directs and animates “Ten Thousand,” a comedic confrontation of calendar days and metrics for time. Blanche makes his proposal for a shift in temporal perspective, stating “no one knows that, four months and 25 days after your 27th birthday, it’s your 10,000th day alive.” He keeps crunching numbers, leading us to a ratio where a day to a calendar year is as four minutes to a 1440-minute day. The mathematics might be hard to follow here as explained in the film, nonetheless, Blanche keeps us to pace. His effort is quite the spectacle: a fast-moving think piece, carefully-crafted with video, animation, and personality. -JM. Creator: Maxwell Blanche.
