Deep in the American south, a girl living in a trailer park feels suffocated by her surroundings when her best friend reveals that she is pregnant. “Georgia,” directed by Maci Parker, is an experimental slice-of-life film that explores coming of age in a rural area. As her younger brother experiments with an old camcorder, Georgia converses with a friend who is unsure what to do about an unplanned pregnancy. Low-key in its delivery, Parker delivers an earnest glance at a moment in time for three young characters staring into the abyss. -JM. Director: Maci Parker. Cast: Katarina Tomaz, Liana Ocampo, Sawyer Coe. Producer: Ian Linn, DP: Isabella Nemcik, PD: Bryce Hinschberger, Original Score: Andrew Helow, Editor: Julia Safrin.
