Destroyer

Destroyer

A man's compulsion to know his partner's secrets leads into underworld contact with the non-human. Judd Myers directs "Destroyer,” a psychological horror piece where consequence lurks behind insecurity and skepticism. Joan has evening plans with a friend, but her boyfriend, Cary suspects otherwise. Paranoid, Cary goes through Joan’s phone and finds messages with an unregistered number suggesting the two have plans later in the night. Joan leaves, Cary follows, and, upon Joan’s arrival to an unfamiliar home, Cary can’t help but interrogate what could be inside. Seeing his opportunity to break in after she leaves, unexpected material, and visitors, await. Myers delivers with unnerving sound design, wide frames, creeping camera moves, and a color palette of amber and darkness built on an increasing eeriness. -JM. Writer, Producer, Director: Judd Myers.
