Drama, Short Films, 21-May-2025
Two unnerving experiences with “good guys” highlight the different ways that two young women react to men and the gray areas of sex and desire. Written by and starring Elizabeth O'Donnell and Annalisa Plumb, “Pillow Talk” is a candid exploration of the dynamics of sexual intimacy, and the dialogue during and post coital. Fixated on the ever-present danger of men, Margot demonstrates a technique on her partner that she’s recently learned in a self-defense class. The next morning, her friend, Cami, wakes up with a man she has slept with for the first time. Later, the two friends break down their evenings and Margot notices some scratch marks on Cami’s back. The back-and-forth between the two women demonstrates a close bond but also a significant difference of opinion. It’s a thoughtful portrait with well-drawn characters. Mathilde Hauducoeur directs; last year we featured her short “Angel Wings and Open Wounds.” -JM. Director: Mathilde Hauducoeur. Writers / EPs / Lead Cast: Elizabeth O'Donnell, Annalisa Plumb.
