As the town of Sandwich, Massachusetts prepares for their annual parade, unsettling occurrences begin to threaten the event. Harrison Fishman directs “The Big Parade,” a lo-fi comic oddity that goes where it wants to go — it’s a gathering of small-town oddballs, mysterious butterflies, and musical string. The Balloon Man is insistent on finding out how many balloons he needs to blow up for the parade, but there are bigger concerns as well. The mayor has gone missing, a police offer tries to track down an almost naked man in the woods, and string is magically appearing all over town. A goofy but committed romp littered with colorful production design and DIY special effects. -KA.
