A struggling stand-up comedian decides to make a comedy sex tape in hopes of getting famous. This rapid-fire mockumentary — created by and starring Mary Beth Barone, Tea Hacic, and Megan Patsel — follows along as Mary Beth pitches her idea and sets out to produce the tape, trying to maintain its integrity while everyone around her keeps missing the point. The film is carried by absurd personalities and performances, spouting off in all directions. There’s Desiré, the provocative sex writer, trying to imbue the film with edgy relevance, “when you climax, you need to scream, ‘I’m woke’”. And Madonna, the inexperienced film student tasked with directing her first film, who only seems to care about making the film feel “orange.” And then there's her cousin, Tooley, acting as her assistant, an awkward girl who wanders around set wearing an oven mitt, touching things. The team has come together with the help of Mary Beth’s agent, Smith (sure of himself, though questionable ethics) who sees a leaked sex tape having career-boosting potential. When it comes time to cast Mary Beth’s sex partner, the production goes from tenuous to full-on fiasco, giving ample opportunity to showcase the wit and comic timing of a wonderfully funny ensemble cast.
Created by Mary Beth Barone, Tea Hacic, and Megan Patsel. Directed by Megan Patsel. Starring Mary Beth Barone, Michael Cruz Kayne, Tea Hacic, and Megan Patsel, Mike Abrusci, and Sabina Demidovich. Shot by Geoffrey Stevens.
