Two strangers meet by chance and form a romantic connection. Julissa Yasmeen Ramirez directs “Future Memory,” an experimental short (just over 1 minute long), shot on Super 8mm filmed primarily in close-ups of hands. Under a pressing electronic score, the young couple moves through New York City on trains, streets, and in parks. We only see details of them in tight shots: playing with their hair, smoking cigarettes, holding hands, caressing one another. Despite its mini-runtime, the film by Ramirez creates an intimate impression with nostalgic visuals and carefully crafted rhythm / tone. -KA. Director / DP / Writer / Editor: Julissa Yasmeen Ramirez. Cast: Larosey Moore, Cybelle Corwin. 1st AD: Charlotte Strange. 1st AC: Tara Lee Shafa. BTS Photographer: Isaiah Buford. Composers: Isaiah Buford and Davis Smith. Production Assistant: Nico Ferrall.
