When two reckless best friends get evicted from their sublet apartment, they embark on a road trip upstate with a pair of Germans attempting to trap them into green-card marriages. “Aitana Needs a Gun,” directed by Chris Martinez and Alex Sulock, is a screwball comedy meets road film carried by a lively quartet. Hoping to hit it big, quite the opposite occurs when Alex and Chris visit the Atlantic City casinos. Later, they link up with a pair of German immigrants — first Cora and then her cousin Aitana — and falsify an impromptu trip upstate. Despite the chaotic behavior, the prospect of romance glimmers with an overnight stay at a roadside motel and a scenic rest stop by the river. The film is shaky, DIY, but nonetheless entertaining thanks to its energetic performances. -JM. Writer/Directors: Chris Martinez, Alex Sulock.
