A lighthearted take on the Alphabet made in quarantine during the Coronavirus Pandemic. Guy Kozak directs “Alphabet,” which creates an appealing mood and atmosphere from a series of simple compositions, one for each letter, A-Z. There’s a lovely variety of visuals — some words are proper nouns, like Osprey (O), others are common nouns like trophy (T) or locket (L). In one shot, there are two letters: a crab (C) disappears (D) into a hole. Some are captured in nature, like fog (F), others are staged, like an eclipse (E) or a gentleman (G) waving. Each are cleverly constructed and feed off each other in building a cohesive tone, aided by lively sound design and musical accompaniment.
Director, DP, Editor, Guy Kozak. Original Music, Vinnie Neuberg.
