Will Gillman attempts to woo a first date by taking her to a chicken photography competition at a local bar. A new knee-slapper from director Brandon Daley — his previous short, Savasana, won Best Comedy in last year’s NoBudge Awards — whose vision is carried out with full-fledged commitment to the absurd. What happens when you care about something that someone else doesn’t understand? Such is the predicament of Chicken Tuesdays. Not that the confident young man in a bunny suit notices his date isn’t as enamored with the outing as he is. Focused on the dazzling competition onstage and mentally preparing for his own performance, he fails to consider that maybe a perfect chicken picture isn’t what she’s after. It’s easy to come up with a ridiculous premise, harder to make it work and execute with style. Daley does both. Just your average tale of a desperate man trying to win over a woman by successfully photographing a chicken. -KA. Directed, Written and Edited by Brandon Daley. Starring Wyatt Fair, Kelly Kreft. Cinematography by Drew Angle. Produced by Ben Gojer, Spencer Parsons.
