A young woman daydreams to escape from a mundane day at the office with her boss and co-worker. Eren Gülfidan directs “Daydreaming,” a collection of surreal images presented as a stream-of-consciousness tone poem. A brain falls from the sky. A mime juggles on the train. The woman imagines herself at a Minnesota motel eating a tuna sandwich watching a beauty pageant on TV. These evocative visuals play harshly against the reality - that the woman is confined to a depressing office working for a man in a suit. Gülfidan’s film gives off a searching quality, striving to be free from the endless toil and from her own anxiety, in favor of open fields and oceans. -KA. Writer, Director, Editor: Eren Gülfidan.
