An aspiring news anchor gets some unexpected help from a delivery man. A new short from director Tynan DeLong (one of our 2018 Persons of the Year), “delivery,” is another quick hitter comedy, true to form, absurd but embedded with empathy for its characters engaged in a minute-by-minute struggle to accomplish small goals. Kelly Cooper calls her mom, a former news anchor, for guidance in making an audition tape in the hopes of becoming a local newscaster. When she can’t quite say “Breaking news” in a natural way, she enlists a food delivery man to help her make the tape. Cooper and co-star Bardia Salimi, both regulars in the NYC underground comedy scene, are in top form here — Cooper as the flustered striver, and Salimi as the straight-shooting loose cannon with aggressively unfettered opinions on everything from lip makeup to mouse traps. -KA.
