The morning after a new love affair, a woman reflects on her past relationships. “Four Chairs,” directed by Ester Song Kim and Nika Burnett, is a poetic portrait that unfolds with sensory detail and surreal shifts. Waking up for the first time with a new man, a woman prepares coffee and tries to enjoy a romantic morning. Yet, as she moves through her apartment, she’s met with visions of previous boyfriends questioning her new romance. Understated but evocative, the film matches quietly striking visuals with expressive performances led by Burnett. -KA. Directed by Ester Song Kim, Nika Burnett. Cinematography: Kelsey Talton.
