A girl living in a half-physical, half-digital world, starts to hear her new neighbor through the wall. Jan Grabowski’s “Half-Dream” begins as a monochrome observation of a young woman in isolation but quickly escalates to a surreal out of body encounter. The character referred to as ‘The Girl’ lays on the boxless mattress of a bare room, dissolving into an endless stream of photos and videos from her phone. When she hears a loud sexual moaning from the other side of the wall, intrigue propels her into a new form. There isn’t any dialogue in Grabowski’s film but it’s not quiet. The film’s atmospheric score and sensory visuals offer a stimulating viewing experience. -JM. Writer and Director: Jan Grabowski. Cast: Zuzanna Kofta. Producer: Jan Grabowski.
