Half sisters who have never met discover something they share. “Half Sisters,” directed by S. Cagney Gentry, delicately shows the first-time encounter between two siblings, one still in elementary school and the other in 6th grade. Callie and her mom head over in the minivan; she amicably awaits seeing her dad and younger sister, Iris, who live on the other side of town. They pull into the driveway, and dad is still working on the ramp he was supposed to have ready. With a bit of hesitation, Callie’s mom hopes it’ll be alright and leaves the two girls and dad be. As the sisters intricately go about conversation with each other, we find ourselves enamored by their mutual kindness and pure-heartedness. With its modest setup and pacing, Gentry lets us observe the charming encounter occurring as a candid moment in time. -JM. Director: S. Cagney Gentry. Cast: Callie Isenhour, Aimee Isenhour, Iris Gentry, Eric Mathis, Foy Crouse. Executive Producer: Robert Riehle.
