Comedy, Short Films, 23-Sep-2024
In an attempt to be liked, a woman invites a stripper to her friend’s bachelorette party. “Isaac,” directed by Samantha Carroll, is a comedic look at an anxious woman’s awkward attempts to socialize at an intimate gathering. In each of their own color-coordinated wigs, the ladies celebrate Meredith’s bride-to-be celebration. However, Anna, who ordered the wrong style wig, struggles with participating to every extent: she mis-tells a story from college and the stripper she booked raises concern rather than excitement. While they all wait for the stranger to arrive, hours behind schedule, the mood unravels. The cringe-inducing performances by lead Isabella Barbier and the rest of the group present a group dynamic where levels of self-esteem strongly differ. -JM. Director: Samantha Carroll. Cast: Isabelle Barbier, Samantha Carroll, Giovanna Zavala, Jamie LaSorsa, Grace Jones, Leigh Murray. DP: Matthew Kyle Levine. Producers: Jamie LaSorsa, Erin LaSorsa. Editor: Matthew Kyle Levine.
