Comedy, Short Films, 28-Apr-2023
During their first hookup, a new couple workshops a mommy kink. Sophia Smith directs “Mommy,” an awkward sex comedy about intimacy going off the rails. From the start, the encounter is uncomfortable — they fumble to get into position, and he is bothered by the presence of her dog. But it gets really weird when he blurts out the titular word in a moment of uncontrolled/misdirected passion. Thus begins an inspired sequence of cringe, as the woman attempts to guide the man toward some mutually tolerable dirty talk. -KA. Director, writer: Sophia Smith. Cast: Nell Sherman, Roby Attal. Director of Photography: Ben Dawson. Editor: Andy Ruse. Producer: Robyn Lay. Executive Producer: Harland Weiss. Executive Producer: Donovan M. Boden. Executive Producer: Isil Gilderdale. Executive Producer: Emily Harris.
