A colorful compendium pairing musical genres with varieties of flowers. Luke Strickler directs and animates “Music for Plants,” which visualizes a series of melodic mash ups — “Sunflower Ska,” “Punk Petunias,” “Dandelion Dubstep,” et al. Morphing seamlessly between styles and tones, each chapter is fully realized within only a couple seconds. A fern rides a train alongside an acoustic guitar (“Fern Folk”); pulsating cacti dance in the desert (“Club Cactus”); a lavender stream flows from an old computer (“Lo-fi Lavender”). Its vivid compositions are cleverly devised and evocative, as are the accompanying musical cues. We’ve featured Strickler three times previously, with his two-part “2064” series and earlier this year with “Scenes from the City.” -KA. Director, Animator: Luke Strickler. Composer: Liam Senior.
