Documentary, Independent, 11-Feb-2026
A tour through a labyrinth of mysteriously linked Los Angeles mansions provides a dreamlike glimpse into the lives of five women. “My Imaginary Life for Someone,” directed by Molly Wurwand and Ryan McGlade, is a docu-fictional feature film featuring an ensemble of former it-girls now in the later half of their lives. Beautifully tiled pools and ornately finished furniture dress the daily worlds for the ladies and significant others. Jaymee-Faith sings happy birthday, Marilyn Monroe style, to her 100-year-old husband; Vanessa flexes her Princess Diana memorabilia; Kristi tours the dream home she spent 17 years building; Darla prepares poolside pizza pockets; and Bree undergoes a blood-stained facelift. Abbreviated as “MILFS,” the film paints a bleak and bizarre portrait of decadent lives, constructed from idiosyncratic interviews and observational footage. -JM. Director: Molly Wurwand and Ryan McGlade. Cast: Summer Fannin, Tamara Lee, Sania Dela Cruize, Annette Homewood, Richard Lewis Warren, Martin Hardlund, Kevin Glynn. DP: Cody Powers.
