An eco-warrior gets out of jail and an old friend tries to pull him back into the fray. A mystifying film, a cheap production & awkward, unnatural interactions make it seem like maybe it's a ruse. Either way, it's intriguing & I recommend you watch at least twice. The film is basically one conversation at an outdoor coffee shop patio -- a healthy chunk of backstory about Joe, who has just been released from jail serving time for some sort of direct action protest, morphs quickly into a radical proposition of upping the ante. The man with the plan is Jonathan, whose deadpan delivery makes it difficult to grasp if he's being serious about the world of gun & drug running that he's mixed up in. Playing off the grinning, Lebowski-type hippy, who doesn't seem hardened or disillusioned by his time in the slammer, Jonathan details the next phase of protest & about how Joe's release date is perfect timing to dive back in, particularly since the radical group has just acquired 180 acres of land.
