A young woman shares an unsettling coincidence with her friend concerning an old photograph. “That Doe Zone,” an experimental film by Harrison Atkins, maneuvers in the unexplainable, existing at least partly as a dream. After her strange revelation, Sheetsa looks up from the table and sees someone who shouldn’t be there. Neither friend can explain the odd occurrences, or their rippling effects. Atkins is content to lean heavily on atmosphere and style, over lucidity. There’s also a subtle sense of humor — less prominent than in his previous shorts, such as “Blissful Banquet” — but enough to keep the proceedings light on their feet.
