A woman ascends out of a mud pit disrupting a young couple living in a country home. The young couple takes her in -- just like Pauly Shore & Sean Astin in Encino Man -- and they teach her how to be human, beginning of course with how to sharpen a pencil. At first the stranger has a rejuvenating effect on the couple. They proudly teach her, as if she was their own child. And then, as it does, everything changes. The sensual young mud woman sees the couple making out, gets aroused, and stays aroused. Four directors are credited here, impressively they're all on the same page. Robert Malone is the one name familiar to NoBudge followers. He seems to be at the center of some sort of no-budget production factory. Just this year, NoBudge has premiered 4 films with Malone as either actor or writer or director ("The Confabulators," "Fresh Starts for Stale People," and "Raptor"). From my cursory research, not one of these have played a single film festival. Okay, so self-serious festivals are not letting the kids play, but the lo-fi production values and sketch-like spirit seem better attuned to the web anyway. Anyway, I love this movie. I've watched it 4 times, and each time I watch the dance-off-turned-threesome scene twice. Instant classic. Directed by Nigel DeFriez, Bruce Bundy, Kira Pearson, Rob Malone.
