The morning after a kidnapping, a detective's investigation tests the bonds of a marriage. Daniel Collins and Matt McDonald direct “Trauma Bonds,” a comedic crime case where the foundation of a relationship is called into question. Vanessa was recently kidnapped. She gives the police her statement, explaining how she was lugged into the back of a car, driven away, and saved by Teddy, her husband. The eccentric detective, played by Al Warren, has his own suspicions, and asks if Vanessa will answer some questions alone. As he learns more about the couple, he points to some red flags. Later that evening, Vanessa interrogates Teddy herself. In its bittersweet punchline, McDonalds and Collins leave it in a place the couple might not be ready for. -JM. Writers/Directors: Daniel Collins & Matt McDonald. DP: Alonso Homs. Producer: Ashley Morgan. Cast: Kimball Farley, Sarah Coffey, Al Warren. Editor: Theo Rosenthal. Composer: Eric Cross. Sound Recording: Andrew Pitts.
