A YouTube food critic goes to great lengths to try the new Taco Bell™ Crispy Chicken Wings©. Bobby McCoy directs the internet culture satire, “Trying The New TACO BELL CRISPY CHICKEN WINGS (Food Review),” which reflects the abundances and absurdities of a hyper-corporatized modern age, in a fashion that's both sardonic and stylized. When it comes to adding to the slush pile of video content online, the Food Dude is here to do his part. Going in search of the new fast food chicken wings to “review,” however, he has a hard time tracking them down. And before long runs into trouble in the real world. McCoy has established himself as a keen observer of ubiquitous YouTube / TikTok personalities, depressed youth, wannabe artists, and all of the corresponding identities and personas that come with it. His short, “Things That Happen,” was one of our favorites from 2019, and while his new one is more self-contained, it’s no less inventive visually or thematically. -KA. Director, star: Bobby McCoy. Director of Photography: Mikey Santos.
