A skinny blond gets picked up in an old white van by a young man and his German Shepherd and they drive around listening to Waylon Jennings. And that's already enough for me, but it gets really good when the blond reveals she's obsessed with Steve Buscemi and has a grand plan to marry him. It starts with a series of paintings she's working on that will culminate in an art show nearby Buscemi's house and a flyer slipped under his door, "Who's not gonna come to an exhibition of themselves?" Problem is, the paintings aren't done "I haven't finished it yet, so he's a little bald on top" and her house-mate has kicked her out and taken possession of the paintings, aka: the key to meeting her future husband. So, the man in the van (Wulf Anderson) and the woman (Beth Jeans Houghton, a singer-songwriter from England) spend the evening drinking Coor's Light, dancing, smoking, smelling her hair, drinking more, smoking more, and at some point, hatching a plan to get the "Buscemis" back. Director Juan Iglesias keeps it simple, hits some sweet spots and takes off. Funny & endearing. -KA.
