Comedy, Short Films, Educational, 14-Dec-2021
In this lighthearted PSA, a narrator walks us through the process of shaking off daily doses of small-scale trauma. “Wiggle Your Worries Away,” directed by Tamar Levine, takes the format of a dated educational film and injects it with stylish production design and verve. All mammals, informs the narrator, use a instinctual technique to rid themselves of the residual effects of fear or pain. Humans, on the other hand, have developed an acute ability to retain those doses of trauma. Running just over two minutes long, Levine’s film maintains a sharp satirical edge alongside a playful spirit and charming lo-fi visuals. -KA. Director, editor: Tamar Levine. Writer: Maude Standish. Music and Sound: Rob Amjarv. Featuring Thomas Sadoski, Drea Sobke. DP: William Carnahan. Food Stylist: Emily Marshall-Garrett. Costume Designer: Vanessa Gonzalez. Set Designers: Maude Standish and Mai Perches. HMU: Jesica Southard. VFX: Brant Wells. Illustration // Animation: Megan Nakazawa.
