A self-sabotaging scammer attempts to sell fake acting classes in Times Square. Ben Scott directs and stars in “You’ve Been Chosen,” a chaotic look at an aggravated young man steamrolling through a new business venture. Before hitting 42nd street, Frank throws on a bedazzled blazer, grabs a microphone and prints flyers. While trying to attract students for his $5 acting class, he fights with a tour bus promotor and tracks down an acquaintance wearing a bunny costume to sell him drugs. Soon, he gets enough participants and moves indoors for a series of erratic acting exercises. The film gets a lot of mileage from its guerrilla filming in the heart of Times Square and intense performances led by Scott, portraying a man both crazily committed and conniving. -JM. Starring, edited, directed, and written by: Ben Scott. Produced by: Lexie Rain Canario. Cinematographer: Jacob Smith. Sound mixed by: Nico Osborne.
