Alone at home, a young woman is forced to deal with an unwelcome intrusion. An experimental horror film directed by Isabela Tanashian, “Immortal She” constructs a fever dream in black and white tapping into a deep sense of unease. Smoking cigarettes and reading a book called “Unmasking the Face,” the woman seems to be in her element until she begins to sense a menacing male presence. To expel the force, she resorts to an unorthodox method of intimacy, which disturbs another ghostly figure. Tanashian’s striking vision taps into the mystical and abstract, an uncanny, gothic tone poem. -KA. Director: Isabela Tanashian. Cast: Isabela Tanashian, Chloë Roe, Alex Bienstock, and Paul Fiore. DP: Marcelo Mayen. Editor: Marcelo Mayen. Executive Producers: Isabela Tanashian and Marcelo Mayen. Music by: Isabela Tanashian and Johnny MacMillan.
