A near death experience grants a man the ability to see angels. Andrew Theodore Balasia directs “On God,” an edgy comedy starring Al Warren, Edy Modica and Bambina. Kream (played by Warren) had plans to put his homie, Big Mike, in check for killing his brother’s dog, but it backfired and sent Kream to the ground with a bullet in the chest. Despite being left in a lengthy coma, Kream wakes up sympathizing with Big Mike, his body pulsing with love. His two homegirls are baffled and propose revenge. As they discuss, the power goes out and a hooded figure arrives. “On God” is told through moody wide frames, WorldStarHipHop-esque interludes, and deconstructed pop music, carried by the performance of the always compelling Warren. We previously featured Balasia with his short films, “Holy Cannoli!” (2020) and “Souvenirs” (2022). -JM. Director/Writer: Andrew Theodore Balasia.
