In need of a place to stay, a young man poses as the son of a woman with Alzheimer’s. Sam Severin directs “Niko & Eleanor,” an understated drama about an unlikely relationship that fleetingly forms between two people with different struggles. Niko enters the home of Eleanor wearing a safety vest asking to check her fuse box. When Eleanor mistakes him for his son, Niko takes advantage of the situation and hopes to evade detection while he gets back on his feet. With simplicity and concision, the film explores themes of family, health, memory, and deception, ultimately landing in a place of tenderness. - KA. Director & Writer: Sam Severin.
