no one has seen me naked in a long time

A reflection on the intimacy of being seen and our perception of time. Shereen Lani Younes’ “no one has seen me naked in a long time” is an audio-visual journal made of existential realizations and peculiar scenes from her everyday life. We hear the filmmaker’s train-of-thought as a sequence of snapshots queue after the next—a neighborhood cat, a bus bench on fire, and a porta-potty floating in air. Like the bursts of life from her recordings, Younes remembers that she, herself, moves through time and space. But when was the last time she was seen, more specifically, when was the last time she was seen naked? The question propels her. Younes wades in humor and philosophy as she confronts the peculiar marker for time and considers what might be required for a change. -JM. Director: Shereen Lani Younes. Writer: Shereen Lani Younes.
