When a woman moves in with her boyfriend, she discovers him spending a concerning amount of time in the bathroom. Matthew Brennan directs “Behind this Locked Door,” a metaphorical drama shrouding relationship growing pains into absurd mystery. Couple Bea and Sean are moving in together. Unpacking into the new place goes smoothly, but when Bea tries to use the restroom for the first time, Sean’s in there for a while. The routine is regular. When Bea asks for clarity, Sean offers little. A conversation with a friend at a party builds up Bea's imagination, but there isn’t enough evidence to make any assumptions. One evening, she finally barges in. It’s a unique portrayal of a relationship amidst a next chapter and the insanity that can follow. Surreal sequences and a wandering wind instrument composition solidify Brennan’s absurdist approach. -JM. Director: Matthew Brennan. Cast: Sophia Lucia Parola, Anthony Misiano, Diletta Guglielmi. DP: Jacob Mallin. Editor: John Grenham. Producers: Rachel S. Bass, Peyton Michelle Edwards. Production Design: Hailey Byrd. Composer: Andrew Goehring.
